St Francis Xavier’s Primary School is a Catholic systemic school in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. At St Francis Xavier’s, we promote an inclusive and innovative learning environment where students can learn, achieve and grow. Our programs are personalised and respond to the learning needs, interests and experiences of each student. Education is about the whole person at St Francis Xavier’s, with learning programs created to develop each child academically, intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Whilst talented children are given opportunity to excel, all children are given equal opportunity to experience success across a variety of areas.

Catholic schools are centred on the person of Jesus Christ and are called to live and proclaim the message of the Gospel. Supported by, and in collaboration with, the Catholic community of which they are a vital part, Catholic schools encourage staff, students and their families into a personal relationship with Jesus, challenging them to find, through Him, meaning and value in their lives.

Transitioning To School

At St Francis Xavier’s, we aim to ensure the transition into Kindergarten is a smooth and positive experience for all students.

Our transition program involves opportunities for students to visit the school, participate in classroom activities, playground games and get to know their buddy. Students in Kindergarten spend their two years with their buddy as our program begins with students in Year 5.

WHY CATHOLIC EDUCATION?

Catholic schools are centred on the person of Jesus Christ and are called to live and proclaim the message of the Gospel. Supported by, and in collaboration with, the Catholic community of which they are a vital part, Catholic schools encourage staff, students and their families into a personal relationship with Jesus, challenging them to find, through Him, meaning and value in their lives.

The school is an integral part of the Parish and Pastoral Region’s program of outreach to Catholic families. Enrolment in a Catholic school enables the local Catholic community to offer support to parents in the faith education of their children. In addition, Catholic schools contribute significantly to the Australian community by promoting quality education and a just and tolerant society.
